Another stab at the backlog, or
something I've been meaning to write about for a while
and not got around to it.

Backlogs provide security.

Backlogs are an individual's victory over the Organization

Backlogs. Clutter. Piles of unfinished business, things kept around because they only "might be" needed. In the elderly and mentally incapable a sure sign of unnamed neurobehavioral pathology requiring intervention. In ordinary people a sign of some vague trouble or maladaptation, of working too hard.
